11:10 am - First Post in a while.
This has been an exciting week and tiring one. I had four photo shoots planned but ended up only doing three of them. One person had to cancel at the last moment do to her moving 6 hours away. It happens more then you think, just ask the Beastie Boys. This was actually the from the last photo shoot that I did this week. The very next day she dyed her hair Red. I want to see what that looks like on film. I'll post more of the photos from the other shoots as well as this one later. I feel that I have learned more in the last 6 months then I have over the last 4 years. Working with some of the photographers that I do is a big help. They know what they are doing and help me out a lot with some basic knowledge. I should have taken a photography class years ago but never got around to it. Know I'm kicking myself for not doing that.
With all of this photography going on I need to find some new locations to do photos. If anybody knows of any cool places that I can take photos at let me know. Maybe a road trip is in order. Let me know.
The Liver. Damn you liver. As some of you know I was having some liver issues. It got better so my doc told me to try a beer a week for a month to see how things went. Things went bad and I can no longer drink beer. I still like to go to the bar a lot but I'm back to my juice. I also need to lose weight again. I'm back to 190lbs. Not good for the liver. I'm going to go back to the gym and might fall off the face of the planet for a little bit because of that but don't worry. I'm not going to break my foot like last summer. I can't afford that plus I have a trip to San Francisco coming up in June. San Diego in July and Seattle in Oct.

11:01 pm - Valentines Day
This is somewhat of a rant, might need to be a blog but oh well.
Valentine’s Day is not my holiday. I have never had someone special on Valentine’s day. Never had anybody I wanted to take out to dinner, buy flowers or give candy to. It just has never happened that way. Some years the holiday would make me sad because there was someone I was interested in but couldn’t date because of one reason or another.
This year I just don’t care about Valentine’s Day. It just is screwing up my dinner plans. I’m not mad or angry that I don’t have anyone. That doesn’t bother me. I’m also not upset because there is someone I want to date but can’t. That isn’t it either since there is nobody I know right now in my life that I would want to date. Nobody. The closest person I could think of lives in Florida, and that is just me thinking of the closest person I know that I would like to date.
I’m happy right now in my life. I like the fact that I’m not somewhat responsible for someone else’s happiness. I’m glad that on my three day weekend that I just had I was able to spend it with a friend all weekend and not worry about not spending time with a girlfriend. I like that I’m trying to plan a weekend with my friends in Pasadena. I like my personal freedom that I have right now.
Maybe I am somewhat selfish but I can be selfish because there is nobody in my life right now that I can enough about to not be selfish and self centered. Don’t get me wrong. I think about my friends and care for them, but I can make plans with them to hang out when I’m free and are willing to leave the house. If I don’t feel like leaving the house I don’t have to. Nobody is there to nag me to go out with them, take them to the movies or spend a day with them. If I don’t want to I don’t have to and they are ok with that and so am I if I want to hang out with them and they don’t feel like it. Nobody gets upset, Nobody says that I don’t spend enough time with them.
I’m not saying that I’m anti love. I just don’t have anybody in my life right now that is worth that. Nobody I know I would be willing to put up with their BS because I can say that I love them. I’m open to meeting someone. It isn’t like I don’t date. I like meeting people because I’m hoping I do meet that someone but right now I haven’t meet them. That is why for today Valentines Day isn’t my holiday.

Now for the big shocker!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I WENT TO A RAVE. First time to a rave at the age of 28. Now it has been 24 hours since the rave and I can't freaking walk because it hurts too much. I think I killed my right knee. I danced my ass off. I wanted to dance for a few months now but never got around to it. There are very few clubs in the area that I'm willing to go to. The rave was good. Good friends were there and I meet a few cool people there.
Well I think I have given the update that I'm willing to give.

So I have been listening to a lot of the
Cold War Kids. If you haven't listen to them yet you should. I really like the song We Used to Vacation. Funny that I get a lot of enjoyment out of hearing a song about a drunk. Makes me want to go to the bar and drink until I pass out. I think I'll get around to buying their album and reading the Toy Collector by James Gunn . If you haven't read that yet you should also. I don't know why but I love fucked up stuff.

I am about to get my taxes done. Going to spend the refund on photography stuff. I hate the 500 watts light from Home Depot.
I'm really liking the new season of 24. It is getting good.

So I watched the new trailer for Dave Chappelle's Block Party. It looks like it could be a really good concert film.
I still haven't watched the last two episodes of Lost. Don't tell me anything. I have them TIVOed
I was going to watch the Grammys last night...didn't but from what I hear...I didn't miss a thing.
I'm looking forward to CSI tonight. It is the return of Lady Heather, played perfectly by the OC's own Melinda Clarke.
The new David Lynch Dune DVD looks really good. Almost three hours of Dune. Which means I'll buy it, watch it once, fall asleep somewhere around the two hour mark. Wake up the next day and watch the last hour. Then I will put it away and wait for a friend to barrow it and never return it.
I'm going to pick up some monolights for photography sometime before summer. I want to get some Alien Bees lights.

06:57 am - A update on me
Ok...real quick update. Here is what has happened over the last few months. I didn't want to post anything until I knew a little bit more.
First off...I'm OK. and now for the reason for that statement.
In Sept I had some blood work done just to see how I'm doing health wise. Good thing to do when your 26. Well my liver profile came out a bit high. Could have been just lack of water before the blood work so I wait another month and drink tons of water. Well the Oct test showed even higher. Now I am slightly worried. Doc thinks it could just be me having something work its way though my system so he gives me another month to wait it out. Dec comes around and I get my blood work done. Now my liver profile is realy really high. Like almost 3 times the limit on where it should be. Now I get scared. He sets up an ultrasound for my liver. I have that done about 3 weeks ago and had to wait another two weeks to get the results. So last week I have another blood test and my liver profile is still high but it is going down. Also my ultrasound on my liver shows that it is just fine. Must be something just working though my liver and in a few months everything should be back to normal.
Now for the sad thing if you know me...I couldn't have beer for the last few months. That sucked. Now the doctor said that I can have one beer a week. I can live with that for the next 2 months until I have another blood work done.
Oh...and it was my birthday this past weekend. I got some gift carts to Barns and Nobel. Got me the Annotated Alice In Wonderland and the Annotated Wizard of Oz. And a book about the movie Donnie Darko.

08:20 pm - It is a sad sad day in mudville
Laptop died yesterday. Don't know what happened. I am hoping it is something other then the hard drive since this weekend is when I was going to backup the system and setup a new automated backup system. I will try to venture to Victoria Gardens sometime tomorrow and drop my laptop off at the apple store. I hope they tell me it is the memory or the motherboard, not the hard drive....anything but the hard drive. I have 6 months worth of photo work on it with no backup. I am glad that I have some stuff on my website and some stuff in emails floating around. I also just had some business cards made up with a photo what was only on my computer so I have at least that somewhere else. I will let you all know what happens. I might need to setup some time of donation link for a new laptop...not that any of my friends have money...because all of them are in the same boat that I am this holiday season. But you never know who will donate for a new laptop.

07:11 am - Jobs...Jobs.....and I'm not talking about the bible one
Ok. For those that haven't read before, I am looking for a new job. I have been looking into the SF and Seattle area. I just started to look at Monterey Bay area also. I have been applying to any job I can find with companies that seem like good companies to work for. I am tired of just taking a job because it is there when I need work. I want to be able to go "I am worth this much money" and also be able to go No Thank you to a job offer. Well two companies have contacted me about interviews. I do pretty well in interviews and most of the time when I went to one I would get the job. Well one company is in Santa Ana. I don't know if I want to move out that way. It just doesn't seem like an area that I could like but it still is close and I wouldn't have to move that far. I hate to commute so I would move there once I had enough for an apartment. The second company is in the SF area. I would really like to work for them and the area is nice. I just don't know what price range they would pay me and I would require alot for me to be willing to move up there, what with the cost of living and all.
In other news. I went to LA this past weekend for a friends art show. It was fun and I got to talk to some really cool people (and got some dirt on some major celebs.) My friend's piece was really amazing and everyone was talking about it (or at least before he showed up...I had to go right after he got there.
